WordPress Design and Development | AVHP
AVHP is a platform for artists and creators from all over Africa to showcase their messages of hope and peace. The clients wanted a website that highlighted the beauty and wisdom of the continent while hosting media that inspires unity and peace.
Goal
Design and develop a website that showcases messages for hope and peace from the continent of Africa. The project was developed by the Brahma Kumaris and needed to reflect their values and sentiments while being inclusive to all cultures and ways of life on the African continent. I took on this project close to the deadline and only had a few days to work with before presenting the front end of the site to the board members.
Approach
I decided to showcase the beauty and wisdom found on the African continent and create a portal for viewers to easily understand the purpose of the platform. I created the website in WordPress using a premium theme, and created resources using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Results
The website’s backend is still in development at the time of writing, but the client-facing design has been a great success and has inspired involvement from many more collaborators and secured backing for the progression of the project.
An image slider showcases a series of images from all over the African continent, accompanied by an African proverb. The intention of these elements is to showcase the beauty and wisdom found on the continent.
An about us page gives the viewer a background as to what the AVHP website stands to achieve, and how and why it was founded.
The Messages Of Hope and Peace page is where all the content of the site is hosted. Users can submit their contributions to the site and have it viewed by the community and visitors.
